Tirumala, Dec. 30 -- : The annual Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam commenced in a grand and orderly manner at the famous Tirumala Srivari Temple during the early hours of Tuesday, with thousands of devotees offering prayers amid chants of 'Govinda Nama'. In order to ensure safety and crowd management, about 3,500 police and vigilance personnel have been deployed.
The sacred Vaikuntha Dwarams were opened at 12.05 a.m., following which priests performed the customary daily rituals before allowing devotees to pass through the Vaikuntha Dwaram after darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara.
