Vijayawada, April 6 -- Three teenage boys were drowned in the Krishna river at Kothapet village in Avanigadda mandal in Krishna district on Sunday.
Police said that a group of people went to the Krishna river from Modumudi village to have a bath.
The deceased boys -- Matti Venkata Gopi Kiran (15), M Veerababu (15) and M Vardhan (16) -- entered the river, slipped into a deep pit and drowned.
Following the incident, DSP Vidyasri and Circle Inspector Yuva Kumar visited the place.
The bodies were retrieved from the river and shifted to the GGH in Avanigadda for postmortem.
A pall of gloom descended on the Modumudu village with the death of three teenage boys.
