Vijayawada, July 29 -- Survivors of human trafficking have appealed to the Governments to take more firm steps to curb human trafficking and to bolster the Anti Human Trafficking Units across the Andhra Pradesh.

Marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons- 2025, Addressing the media here on Tuesday, Ms. Apoorva, President of VIMUKTHI - the State Federation of Women Survivors of Trafficking, acknowledged the commendable efforts of the State Government and the CID Department in combating trafficking.

However, she stressed that recognition as a trafficking-free state is possible only through the robust strengthening of Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTUs) across all districts, guided by a survivor-centered approach.
