Vijayawada, Feb. 23 -- Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Minister D Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy has said that the government has allocated Rs 11,118 crore for social welfare in the 2026-27 budgetParticipating in the Budget discussion in the Legislative Assembly on Monday, Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy said that under the SC Sub-Plan, Rs 20,643.57 crore has been earmarked, which is Rs 362.65 crore more than the previous year.
The Minister stated that regular nodal agency meetings are being conducted to ensure effective utilisation of the SC Sub-Plan funds. Providing details of allocations, he said Rs 581 crore has been earmarked for the construction of hostels, Rs 389 crore for pre-matric scholarships, and Rs 323 crore for post-matric scholarships.
