Rajahmundry, Oct. 21 -- East Godavari district Collector Keerthi Chekuri directed the officials to take efficient steps to tackle urea shortage during the ensuing rabi season.

The Collector held a video conference with the officials concerned here on Tuesday and reviewed the stocks of urea and other fertilizers. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that adequate reserves of urea should be made available in advance to prevent farmers from facing any shortage of fertilizers.

She explained that taking into account the average of fertilizers used in the last three Rabi seasons, sufficient urea has been made available for this season.
