Kakinada, June 9 -- Municipal sanitation workers owing allegiance to AITUC-affiliate AP Municipal Workers Union staged a dharna in front of the collectorate here on Monday in support of their pending problems, mainly wage arrears.
Addressing the protesters, AITUC district general secretary Thokala Prasad has demanded action against the officers who were negligent in sanctioning the sanitation workers wages bill.
He alleged that the APCOS sanitation workers were paid wages for the month of May only for fifteen days due to negligence of the secretariat health secretaries and inspectors. As a result the sanitation workers were running around the municipal corporation seeking justice .
The commissioner should intervene and take action again...
