Kadapa, May 14 -- In a tragic incident, five children were drowned in an irrigation tank at Mallepally village of Brahmamgari Mattam mandal of Kadapa district in AP.
DSP Rajendra Prasad told the media that the deceased children Charan (15), Parthasarthi (12), Harshavardhan (12), Deekshit (12) and Tharun Yadav (12) entered the irrigation tank last night for a bath and drowned.
The parents and relatives searched for the children and finally found their clothes on the bank of the irrigation tank. The police pressed expert swimmers to trace the bodies of the children in the tank. All five bodies were retrieved from the irrigation tank and shifted to the GGH in Proddatur for postmortem.
