Vijayawada, Nov. 4 -- Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav has announced that eight more Special Newborn Care Units (SNCU) will be set up in the State.

He told the media here on Tuesday that by setting up eight Special Newborn Care Units, 80 warmers would be made available.

"For setting up each Special Newborn Care Unit, Rs 60 lakh is required and Rs 4.80 crore is required to set up eight such units," he informed.

The Health Minister said that Rs 8.91 lakh to be spent for a month to maintain each SNCU, adding that Rs 1.07 crore to be spent to maintain the either newborn care units for annum.
