AP: Dusherra events begin at Durga temple, HM present silk saree to goddess

Vijayawada, Sept. 22 -- The Durga Puja festival events began at the famous Kanaka Durga temple, atop the Indrakeeladri hill here on Monday and Home Minister V Anitha presented silk saree to the goddess.

The Durga Puja Navaratrulu began at the Indrakeeladri hill with devotion and religious fervor which will conclude on October 2. Thousands of people formed a long queue to have a darshan of goddess Durga on the first day. On the first day, Goddess Durga appeared to the devotees as 'Bala Tripura Sundari Devi'.
