Visakhapatnam, Jan. 11 -- With the approach of the Sankranti festival, a heavy rush of passengers is being witnessed at railway stations and in trains across the Waltair Division.
To manage the increased footfall, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Lalit Bohra reviewed the crowd management arrangements at major stations, including Visakhapatnam here on Saturday.
As part of the measures, additional ticket counters, Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) and enquiry counters have been made operational to facilitate passengers.
Adequate catering services and drinking water facilities have also been arranged.
A war room has been set up at the Divisional Office for round-the-clock monitoring of passenger movement.
