Kakinada, Dec. 10 -- Farmers owing allegiance to the CPI staged dharna in front of the agricultural assistant director's office at Pithapuram near here on Wednesday. They raised slogans demanding urea supply and implementation of Annadatha Sukhibhava scheme to the tenant farmers also.

They also demanded payment of input subsidy to the farmers and tenant farmers for the crop loss sustained in the recent cyclone and floods.

Addressing the protesters, CPI state secretariat member Thatipaka Madhu said farmers were facing hardships due to urea shortage and blamed Deputy Chief Minister Pavan Kalyan for neglecting farmers of his Pithapuram constituency.
