Kakinada, May 21 -- CPI state executive member Thatipaka Madhu said their party would launch a state-wide agitation on June 2, demanding homestead land for the poorer sections and sanctioning of Rs.5 lakh for the construction of houses.

Participating as the chief guest at the CPI district executive committee meeting at the STU office here on Wednesday, he said their agitation would not stop till all the eligible poor get the house sites.

Claiming that the CPI had been serving the poor and downtrodden besides the working class for the past one hundred years, Madhu called upon the party cadre to celebrate the CPI foundation day at all levels.
