Kakinada, June 10 -- Workers' unions owing allegiance to CITU staged a dharna in front of the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule statue on Tuesday protesting against the decision of the state government to introduce a ten-hour working system.
They raised slogans demanding the implementation of Rs.26,000 minimum wage to workers in any sector, dispense with the policy of compulsory overtime, and also put an end to night duties for women workers.
CITU district General Secretary Chekkala Raj Kumar, district Vice President Kanchepu Sathiraju, AP Medical representatives union state General Secretary Chivukula Venkatarao addressed the workers.
