Kakinada, Dec. 14 -- BJP leaders on Sunday performed the Bhoomi Puja for the installation of former Prime Minister and senior BJP leader A.B. Vajpayee's statue in the Raja Tank premises here.
BJP district president Bikkina Visweswerarao performed the Puja amid chanting of hymns by vedic pandits.
He said during Vajpayee's regime as the Prime Minister the country had developed a lot and his able leadership received widespread appreciation from all parties.
As a mark of respect for the great son of the soil ,he said, Vajpayee's statue would be installed at the Raja tank premises on December 21 ahead of his birth centenary celebrations on December 25 on a large scale.
