Kakinada, June 16 -- Anganwadis owing allegiance to AP Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union, an affiliate of CITU, staged a dharna in front of the collectorate here on Monday demanding implementation of welfare schemes for them. Union state president G Babyrani, district president Dadala Padma, CITU district president Duvva Seshu Babji and secretary Chekkala Raj Kumar addressed the demonstrators. They alleged that the government has cheated the Anganwadis by going back on the promises made. They said the alliance leaders during electioneering promised Anganwadis on implementation of welfare schemes but went back on their promise on coming to power.
