Vijayawada, March 29 -- Police seized 60 kg of ganja while being transported in a car at Atkur village on the National Highway near here and arrested three drug peddlers.
Superintendent of Police R Gangadhar Rao told the media here on Saturday that on a tip off, a police team led by Hanuman Junction CI KVNN Satyanarayana and SI Suresh Chava conducted checking of vehicles on the highway at Pottipadu Toll gate on Friday evening.
The police when checked found 60 kg of cannabis in a car. In the presence of Unguturu mandal Tahsildar the police seized the ganja and arrested the drug peddlers who were taking the haul to Maharashtra.
The police identified the arrested drug peddlers as Chantibabu, Santosh and Bhaskar.
