Bapatla, Aug. 3 -- Six workers of a granite quarry were killed and eight were injured when boulders fell on them at a granite quarry industry located at Ballikurava village in the district on Sunday.
Police said that when a group of workers was working at the Satya Krishna Granite industry, boulders rolled down from a hillock and fell on them. Six workers were killed instantaneously, and four bodies have been extricated from the boulders so far. Efforts are on to extricate two more bodies from the boulders.
As many as 16 workers were working at the granite quarry industry when the mishap occurred. The injured were shifted to a private hospital, where the condition of four of the injured workers was said to be very critical. As per the pre...
