Guntur, Feb. 12 -- The Principal Court here on Thursday sent former Minister Ambati Rambabu to 14 days judicial remand in the lucky draw case.
The Minister was allegedly involved in Sankranthi Sambarala lucky draw scam in Sattenapalli town when he was the Water Resources Development Minister in the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in 2023.
The prosecution's charge is that the volunteers deducted Rs 200 from the social security pensions, while disbursing to the beneficiaries without their consent for the Sankranthi festival lucky draw scheme. The Minister distributed the gifts to the winners.
