Awahdevi (HP), Oct. 2 -- The BJP today remembered Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birthdays and also ended their Seva Pakhwara (a fortnight of service).
Former union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Shastri and urged people to follow their ideals.
Thakur said Gandhiji's philosophy of truth, non-violence and Satyagraha guided India's freedom struggle and also inspired civil rights movements around the world.
He highlighted Lal Bahadur Shastri's humility and integrity, his leadership in the 1965 war, and his historic call of 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan', which continues to inspire the nation today.
