Bhubaneswar, Dec. 24 -- : Senior IAS officer and Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Odisha, according to a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department on Wednesday.
A 1991-batch IAS officer, Anu Garg becomes the first woman IAS officer to hold the post of Chief Secretary in the state. She had earlier created history in 2023 by becoming Odisha's first woman Development Commissioner.
Garg brings with her extensive experience in district administration, having served from 1992 to 2003 in key roles, including Collector and District Magistrate of districts such as Sambalpur and Bargarh.
