Srinagar, April 1 -- An anti-militancy operation is underway in a forest area in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir after terrorists exchanged fire with security forces on Tuesday evening.

The Army said a joint operation with J&K Police, was launched in the Arahama area of Ganderbal based on specific intelligence input.

"..During the search, vigilant troops observed suspicious activity. On being challenged, terrorists opened fire and own troops retaliated. Operation is in progress." Army's Srinagar based Chinar Corps said on X.
