Bareilly, Oct. 17 -- In a case that has shaken the local police administration, serious allegations have been made against an anti-corruption team that arrested sub-inspector Deepchand for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. However, a recent investigation suggested the entire operation might have been orchestrated as part of a larger conspiracy.

The arrest, which took place late at night on January 6 this year at the Bhudia police outpost, saw the anti-corruption team forcibly open SI Deepchand's drawer and seize Rs 50,000 in cash. He was arrested under the Prevention of Corruption Act and spent seven months in jail before being granted bail.
