Dharamshala, Dec. 16 -- Anti-drug meetings were organised in four panchayats of Fatehpur development block in Kangra district-Chalwara, Batrahan, Hatli and Sunet-with the objective of curbing the growing menace of drug abuse.
As part of this initiative, a meeting of the Gram Panchayat Batrahan was held under the chairmanship of Panchayat Pradhan Anita Devi. Members of the Drug Prevention Committee unanimously passed a resolution stating that if any person is found involved in the sale, consumption or trafficking of chitta or any other intoxicating substance within the panchayat area, the matter will be immediately reported to the police. It was also decided to launch special awareness campaigns to keep the youth away from drugs.
