Azamgarh, Dec. 12 -- The Anti-Corruption Organisation (ACO) Unit carried out a significant operation against corruption today, arresting clerk Shivcharan Yadav red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
The action was taken after a complainant submitted an application alleging that the clerk was demanding illegal money to process an approved document on the government portal.
In a separate but related crackdown, Jayprakash Yadav, the Revenue Inspector (commonly known as Patta Babu) posted at Martinganj Tehsil and a resident of Sahababad, Post Naharpur, under Pawai Police Station, was also arrested.
