Baran (Rajasthan), Nov. 14 -- Former Rajasthan Minister and Congress candidate Pramod Jain Bhaya is leading by over 2,000 votes after the fifth round of counting in the Anta assembly by-poll, while ruling BJP nominee Morpal Suman is trailing.
The contest in this South-Eastern Rajasthan seat has been closely fought among Bhaya, Suman, and independent candidate Naresh Meena, with trends fluctuating round by round, creating uncertainty that is expected to continue through the remaining counting rounds.
At the end of the fifth round, Bhaya had secured more than 18,000 votes, Meena over 16,100, and Suman around 1,200 votes. Counting began at 8 am across 14 tables at the Government College campus, including postal, service, and home votes.
