Los Angeles, Nov. 25 -- Tokyo-based filmmaker Anshul Chauhan is bringing his independent production banner, Kowatanda Films, to India, with the horror feature "Nava" marking the studio's first local production, reports Variety.

The project reunites Chauhan with actress Shweta Tripathi, who will star in the film and produce through her newly launched Bandarful Films.

Set in the wetlands of the Sundarbans, Nava follows Tara Sen, who returns home and becomes entangled in a generations-old mystery involving river gods and buried family secrets. The screenplay is penned by Akash Mohimen, promising a culturally rooted horror story with universal appeal.
