Madurai, July 20 -- National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted raids in multiple locations across Tamil Nadu in connection with the Islamic State (IS) inspired terror module "Ansarulla" that was planning to carry out terrorist attacks in India with the intention of establishing Islamic rule.

Police sources said the raids were going on in Muslim-dominated Melapalayam locality in Tirunelveli, Madurai, Theni, Ramanathapuram and among other locations.

The anti-Terror raids were going on at the houses of 14 men, who were arrested by the NIA after they were deported from UAE for allegedly raising funds to set up a cell of the IS in the country.
