New Delhi, Feb. 27 -- : Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav on Friday announced the birth of a fourth cheetah cub to Gamini, a South African cheetah and second-time mother, at Kuno National Park.

Sharing the update on social media, the minister said, "Kuno National Park is pleased to announce the birth of a fourth cub to female cheetah Gamini."He added that all the cubs born to the South African-origin cheetah earlier this month, on February 18, are healthy. With the latest birth, India's cheetah population has risen to 39, including 28 cubs born in the country.

Earlier, in March 2024, she delivered six cubs, the largest litter recorded under India's cheetah reintroduction programme and the first by a South African cheetah at Kuno. While...
