Srinagar, June 5 -- Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid, the managing committee of the mosque affairs on Thursday sought clarity from authorities on allowing Eid-ul-Adha prayers at Eidgah.
Eid-ul-Adha is being celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday and it is one of the two major Muslim festivals. It is observed by sacrificing an animal, usually a sheep or goat, and by offering congregational prayers.
A delegation of Anjuman today visited the Eidgah ground to review arrangements for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha prayers. The delegation met with the Waqf Board administrator and officials overseeing the site, a statement by the Anjuman said.
