Srinagar, March 30 -- The Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid (AAJM) on Sunday called upon the authorities not to interfere or put up obstacles but instead ensure the smooth conduct of Eid congregational prayers at Eidgah ground in the city.

Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramazan, will be celebrated either on Monday or Tuesday depending on the sighting of the crescent on Sunday.

In a statement, the AAJM expressed hope that the authorities will not create any interference or obstacles and will facilitate the smooth conduct of Eid prayers at Eidgah, respecting the religious sentiments and rights of the people.
