New Delhi, July 9 -- With several national sprinting records to his name and having won a slew of medals at international tournaments, Animesh Kujur has emerged as India's foremost athelete.
The 22-year-old recently set a new national record in 100 metres when he clocked 10.18 seconds in the 'Dromia International Sprint & Relays' meeting in Greece.
It was a historic achievement as Kujur became the first Indian to run 100 metres under 10.20 seconds.
Apart from the men's 100 metres record, the Chhattisgarh boy also holds the national records in 200 metres, and the
4x100 metres relay.
Initially a football enthusiast, Kujur switched to the track after becoming inspired by the legendary Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt.
