Luanda, May 29 -- The Angolan government launched a Youth Employment and Opportunities Project for 2025-2029, backed by $250 million from the World Bank, to create 500,000 jobs for youths.
Approved on Wednesday by the Cabinet Council, the project aims to increase employment opportunities for young people and create 500,000 jobs over the term, prioritizing women and people with disabilities.
Teresa Dias, minister of the Public Administration, Labour and Social Security of Angola, said the effort began in 2023 with a World Bank study that recommended a job creation strategy to boost short-term productivity and invest in human capital development.
