Canberra, Jan. 13 -- World No. 8 Mirra Andreeva beat Marie Bouzkova in straight sets on Tuesday night to advance to the quarterfinals at the Adelaide International, an Australian Open warm-up event.

Andreeva, the third seed, beat the 45th-ranked Czech player 6-3, 6-1 in one hour and nine minutes in her first match at the tournament after receiving a first round bye.

The Russian 18-year-old had her serve broken in the first game of the match and fell behind 3-1 before she won five consecutive games to win the first set and four consecutive games to win the second.
