Visakhapatnam, Dec. 23 -- The two-day PESA Mahotsav began in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday with an energetic PESA Run along Ramakrishna Beach, marking the start of celebrations highlighting the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act, 1996 (PESA).
The early-morning run saw enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups, with strong representation from tribal youth.
It was flagged off by Arjuna awardee and international archer Jyothi Surekha Vennam in the presence of Mukta Shekhar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj; Mutyalaraju Revu, Commissioner, APSIRD≺ VR Krishna Teja Mylavarapu, Commissioner & Director (Panchayat Raj & Rural Development); and Dr M. Sudhakar Rao, Additional Commissioner (PR).
