Anantapur, Jan. 2 -- Andhra Pradesh Minister for BC and EWS Welfare S Savitha distributed pattadar passbooks to the land owners at Naginayana village of Somandepalli mandal in Sri Satya Sai district on Friday.
Talking to the media on the occasion, the Minister said that 31,368 farmers are being given new passbooks for their lands. She recalled that, as per the assurance, the controversial Land Title Act was abolished immediately after coming to power by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The farmers and landowners were petrified by the controversial Land Title Act, which was implemented by the previous Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government. Realising the fears of land owners and farmers, the Naidu-headed government revoked the Act, she noted....
