Kakinada, April 25 -- Deputy Chief Minister Pavan Kalyan on Friday laid foundation stone for upgrading the 30-bed community health centre to 100-bed regional hospital at Pithapuram.

Kalyan said with the upgrade, the hospital would extend better medical facilities not only to the three lakh people in Pithapuram constituency but also to those in neighboring six mandals. Under the new plan, the hospital will have two new blocks, one OP ward, dialysis ward, a blood bank, a mortuary, besides being equipped with modern machines, Kalyan said.
