Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Jan. 7 -- The Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Association (APCLA) will hold its 20th state conference here on January 10 and 11.

In a release on Wednesday, the Association alleged that growing public dissatisfaction was being met with increased repression, including the use of laws such as the UAPA and the deployment of Central agencies against political opponents.

The fundamental rights won through people's struggles are being systematically undermined, it alleged.

"To build and protect the country as a secular, democratic republic, time has come for all democrats to raise their voices against the suppression of civil and democratic rights," it said, adding preparations are underway for the the state conference...
