Lucknow, March 12 -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that during previous governments, land mafias illegally took over historic sites in Prayagraj, such as Akshaya Vat, Mata Saraswati Koop, Patalpuri, Shringverpur, Dwadash Madhav and Bhagwan Beni Madhav.

Addressing 'Manthan: Kumbh and Beyond' Vichar Sangam programme, the CM said, "This severely affected the heritage and significance of these sacred places. During Maha Kumbh, these sites were freed from land mafias, paving the way for their revitalisation. As a result, devotees can now visit them throughout the year."
