Morena, Aug. 21 -- More than 50 ancient silver and brass-like coins have been found during digging at an old house in Morena district, Madhya Pradesh, police said.
The coins were found during construction of a temple at Sagoriyapura village in Pahargarh police station limits.
To fill the foundation of the site, soil was being transported from the old house belonging to former sarpanch Santoshi Lal Dhakad. When the soil was being unloaded into the foundation, the JCB driver noticed the coins.
Police and Revenue Department officials reached the spot and took possession of the coins, which are now being examined. It was observed that the coins have inscriptions in Persian.
