Guwahati, Sept. 21 -- An ocean of people thronged Assam's capital town, Guwahati, this morning and gathered at the house of Zubeen Garg and at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports complex to pay their last respect to the iconic singer-composer.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma received the mortal remains of Garg at New Delhi, from where it was flown to Guwahati in a chartered aircraft. The mortal remains arrived in Guwahati around 6.45 am today. Lakhs of people gathered around both sides of the road from the airport to Guwahati city to have a glimpse of their favourite musician, who was taken on a floral-decorated van.
