Amritsar, March 17 -- The main accused in the recent grenade attack on a temple in Punjab's Amritsar was killed in a police encounter on Monday morning after a brief exchange of fire, police said.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Monday that acting on specific intelligence, the Commissionerate Police Amritsar decisively tracked down those responsible for the grenade attack on the temple by Thakur in Khandwala, Amritsar on March 15.
An FIR under the Explosive Substances Act was registered at police station Chheharta and the accused were identified following intelligence inputs, he said.
