Chandigarh, Aug. 21 -- In a coordinated intelligence-driven operation with central agencies, Amritsar Rural Police arrested Malkeet Singh, a resident of Pandori, Amritsar, recovering a hand grenade, a .30 bore pistol (Px5), and 10 live rounds of .30 bore ammunition.

Initial investigations have revealed Singh's direct connections to UK-based gangster Dharma Sandhu, a known associate of Harwinder Rinda, a Pakistan-based operative of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), allegedly supported by Pakistan's ISI.

The police are conducting further inquiries to dismantle the broader network linked to this arrest. Punjab Police reiterated their commitment to disrupting terror-gangster networks and ensuring peace and security in the state.
