Chandigarh, Aug. 26 -- In a major breakthrough under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's directive to ensure a secure Punjab, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police have dismantled a cross-border arms smuggling racket, arresting one individual with five advanced 9mm Glock pistols and four magazines, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav announced on Tuesday.

The accused, identified as Amit Singh, a resident of Guru Ki Wadali, Chheharta, Amritsar, was apprehended while attempting to deliver the consignment. Police also seized a black Hero Splendor motorcycle used by the suspect for transporting the weapons.
