Chandigarh, July 26 -- In a major crackdown, Amritsar Police arrested four members of an extortion gang that was terrorizing a local businessman by demanding ransom in the name of gangster Doni Bal. The operation also led to an encounter where the gang's mastermind, Harpreet Singh alias Happy, was injured.
According to Police Commissioner, the gang fired shots at the businessman's under-construction site to intimidate him. Following a swift investigation, four suspects Harpreet Singh alias Happy, Simran, Amandeep Singh alias Aman Pehalwan, and Simratpal Singh were apprehended. The arrests were made under FIR No. 118 registered at Sadar Police Station, Amritsar.
