Chandigarh, Dec. 1 -- Amritsar Commissionerate Police said on Monday it has dismantled a Pakistan-backed weapon smuggling network following a targeted operation based on intelligence inputs. Two operatives associated with the module were arrested and seven sophisticated pistols were recovered from them.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav briefed the media on the development, calling it a significant breakthrough against cross-border networks attempting to destabilise the state. According to initial investigation details, the accused were in direct contact with a Pakistani handler.
