Chandigarh, Dec. 16 -- The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday heard a parole petition filed by Khadoor Sahib MP and pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh, during which he appeared before the court through video conferencing from Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam.
The virtual appearance also brought out the first photograph of Amritpal Singh since his arrest nearly three years ago.
During the hearing, Amritpal Singh told the court that he wished to attend the ongoing winter session of Parliament to raise issues related to his constituency. He argued that participating in parliamentary proceedings is his constitutional right as an elected representative and said that people had voted for him to represent their concerns.
