Amravati, April 2 -- : A man was killed after an iron raft from an under-construction flyover collapsed on him while he was travelling on a two-wheeler in Riddhpur area of Morshi tehsil of Maharashtra's Amravati district, police said on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Ishwar Bhurbhure(45), a resident of Dabheri village, Ridhhapur. His friend, who was accompanying him, sustained minor injuries in the incident.
According to police, the flyover construction work had been underway for nearly a year near railway crossing gate number 23 on the Tivsa highway at Shri Kshetra Riddhpur.
The project was being executed by a private construction firm.
