Ranchi, Dec. 26 -- Senior IPS officer of the Jharkhand cadre, Amol Vinukant Homkar, has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force on central deputation.
The appointment has been made by the Ministry of Home Affairs, and is being seen as significant from the perspective of the country's internal security framework.
An official communication issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on December 26 informed the Jharkhand government about the decision. The letter stated that Amol Homkar has been assigned the responsibility of Inspector General in the CRPF and requested the state government to relieve him immediately to enable his central deputation to take effect.
