Kolkata, Dec. 29 -- : union Home Minister Amit Shah will begin a three-day visit to West Bengal from Monday night as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) steps up its organisational preparations for the crucial Assembly elections scheduled next year.

Shah is currently in Assam, where he is inaugurating several key infrastructure projects. These include the Intelligent City Surveillance System (ICSS), a citywide CCTV network aimed at strengthening security and law enforcement. The ICSS, an Integrated Command and Control Centre, will monitor over 2,000 CCTV cameras to enhance security and emergency response systems across the state. He will also inaugurate the new Guwahati Police Commissioner's Office.
