New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah today unveiled development projects in Delhi worth Rs 1,816 crore, of which 80 per cent are aimed to rejuvenate and clean the river Yamuna.
Shah said that proper planning is being done to rejuvenate the Yamuna, up to the place where it meets the Ganga in Prayagraj.
He stated that when the people of Delhi voted for change, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared that purifying the Yamuna was top priority of his government.
According to Shah, the PM promised to complete the task of cleaning the Yamuna by 2029, adding that by merely reducing corruption and spending less on advertisements, the purification of the Yamuna can be achieved.
